ZDF reports: “Dolphin 3 revolutionizes water rescue”

The number of drowning accidents is increasing – in 2024 alone, according to DLRG, over 400 people lost their lives in German waters. To better support emergency services and save lives faster, the rescue robot "Dolphin 3" was developed. ZDF shows in a detailed report how the robot speeds to the scene at up to 30 km/h in wind and waves, rescues people from life-threatening situations, and is even expected to act autonomously in the future.

SWR Aktuell: “Rescue robot Dolphin III is designed to save drowning victims”

Again and again, tragic bathing accidents occur in Germany – in Baden-Württemberg alone, 48 people drowned last year. To support emergency services in such emergencies, the DLRG is now relying on state-of-the-art technology: the Dolphin 3 water rescue robot. The around 15-kilogram light, agile and extremely fast robot can travel to the scene of the accident in seconds and reach people in the water long before rescue workers are on site. 13 of these devices are already in use in Germany – including at Lake Gifiz in Offenburg, where they were successfully tested.

Südkurier on Dolphin 3: “This robot can save lives”

The rescue robot "Dolphin 3" is causing a stir: Developed in Kressbronn, it already supports emergency services in water rescue in 14 federal states. With a speed of up to 26 km/h, a range of over 1 km and space for up to six people, it can bring drowning people safely and quickly to shore – even in strong waves or currents. Thanks to its innovative design, it remains operational even after a fall from 50 meters, rights itself independently and can be controlled both manually and autonomously.
